Bald Eagle - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Bald Eagle - Lincoln Park Zoo

Fourth of July. Happy Birthday.
Celebrate at Lincoln Park Zoo.
See the symbol of U.S.A. -
Head feathered white - no red or blue.
The bald eagle, great bird of flight
That soars across the nation's skies,
Spreading its wings of freedom's might
In the nation o'er which it flies.
The Zoo is home to such a bird,
Grounded because of injury,
But still able to spread the word
That We are lucky to be free.

The bald eagle knows that We care
About the freedom that We share.
