Bambi's Mom Is Dead Poem by Juan Olivarez

Bambi's Mom Is Dead

Black round eyes stare unseeing.
Head twisted at an impossible angle,
Breath and life departed.
Body starting to bloat,
The custodians of the wild have arrived,
Blue bottles and ants and a myriad of beetles.
Up in the blue, black, red headed demons circle.
The eyes stare at.....nothing.
Bambi's mom is dead.

7/1/13 somewhere in east Texas.
