Barnyard Pride Poem by Marilyn Lott

Barnyard Pride

Rating: 5.0

It was a perfect sunny day
Just right for a little ride
I enjoyed a drive in the country
And noticed the barnyard pride

I say that because I know
How farmer’s always feel
About the animals they raise
The life that’s so fresh and real

For barns tell wonderful stories
You can see by the worn stalls
Just like an old schoolhouse
Great stories within the walls

So this particular day I traveled
Down some red dirt roads
Fields on either side of me and
Vegetable gardens that someone hoed

You know, I can’t think of anything
That I would rather do
Than enjoy barns along the roads
Perhaps you’d enjoy them too!

I always have and as I said once before today on a similar topic...Ah....the smell of Skunk in the evening....I don't know why but it shouts Country.
