Barriers
Brick by brick the barrier is built
Placed by painful memories past,
Adamantly meant to last.
When Time tumbled and lay sprawled
And up the bricks the ages crawled,
While inside abides the tempest.
Rapidly rising, by depths it grows
Enveloping the light that remains
Until surely the walls will not retain-
Their rigid duty to protect,
But nonetheless deflect,
The sturdy hands of help.
