Battlefield Monstrosity Poem by Dyhanara Rios

Battlefield Monstrosity

Miscommunication;
No, I’m the monstrosity
That caused this tragedy;
The battlefield reaches
Farther than our eyes can see.

We have a strong friendship;
We can fight a stronger war.
But I want things to be
The way they used to be
And not as they are.

We all make mistakes;
Myself more than anyone.
Now, what will it take
For you to forgive me
And let me come home?
I’ll do whatever it takes
To stop this terrible monster soul.

We have a strong friendship;
We can fight a stronger war,
But I want things to be
The way they used to be
And not as they are.

Right now, my first and foremost goal
Is to show you that I’ll defeat the soul
Of the battlefield monstrosity
That prevents us from being
The happiness we used to be.
I’ll make things better again;
Just leave it up to me, my friend.
