Be Poem by Colin Wood

Be

Some were born into greatness
Some were born to survive
As I stand on the edge
Of somewhere trying to hide

I’m not looking for forgiveness
I’m not full of regrets
Just wasted opportunities
I’m not likely to forget

Be,
Just want to be me
Look in the mirror
I want to see me

You can’t sit there and judge
You don’t know where I’ve been
Can’t know what I’ve done
Don’t see what I’ve seen

Its not that I’m frightened
Of what I’ll become
I’m not wound to tight
I want to come undone

Be,
Just want to be me
Look in the mirror
I want to see me

Not a sign you can read
Is the frown that I wear
The scars on my face
Not a cross to bear

I’m happy being who I am
Happy with my plan
Be.
