Be Still & Know Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Be Still & Know

When Jesus’ bride is Spirit led
God’s truth is all but late
Yet still so oft we hear it said
“Be patient now and wait”

Who run ahead or lag behind
Is not in Jesus’ near
The blind begin to lead the blind
Leading to doubt and fear

Through fear and doubt, darkness will steal-
The truth The Lord will give
Be still and know that God is real
And in His strength we’ll live

Yet still we try to go our way
The path we; think is right
Until we realize one day
The Lord is out of sight

The Lord we’ve learned to love and trust
Has left us high and dry
We feel our faith has turned to dust
And then we start to die

The devil’s job is to deceive
He’ll kill he’ll lie and cheat
His evil thoughts we oft believe
Can lead beneath his feet

He knows the time when faith is low
When man’s not far from sin
He knows from God we fail the flow
Then like a flood he’s in!

Be still allow The Lord to guide
His love’s forever true
It’s we! Who’ve left the Saviour’s side
And think! He’s out of view.
