Be Wiser Than A Serpent Poem by Antonio Liao

Be Wiser Than A Serpent

ball of fire
engulf the soul, baked like
bubble of treachery touching
the final toe of an
pointless venture of nothing to
rest

regret tells
knows no one, mixed of emotional
distress facing
the rising sun disclose in the degree
of the gnashing teeth
tolerate

dismay not the tongue
of flame touches
the sacred lips of veil and knock the
holiness of the saint,
for every head bless
will emptied our sinfulness, lock
the holy one within my
feet, until everything will
rise

be empty and survive
the fire of hell …
