Be You Poem by Emily Michele

Be You

Rating: 2.5

you can get high while your really low
smoking what they give you to put on a show
trying to be cool, that's what you think
but you only have fun when your chugging a drink
without, your personality is mean and cruel
but in your conceited head you think you rule
tearing me apart with every word you say
just cause i hold a smile doesn't mean I'm okay
we all have our problems; money, romance, and such
you create your own living a chaotic rush
if that's what you want then it's fine by me
yet think of who you inspire to be
what will smoking weed, taking shots, possibly do?
take a walk in your future shoes
minimum wage, unpaid bills, no longer the life
be some poor drug addicts trophy wife
guess we can't help who we are but the decisions we make
do really count, determines are fate
saying this cause I care, yeah i make mistakes too, but I'm just me and your just you
no one is better, just equal, the same
so stop the hurting, competiful game
to change the feelings that come with your name
that leave scars once memories fade
just take a look in the mirror, is the reflection you seen who you are, or who you try to be?
if not, don't point fingers, your choices weren't mine
if it was up to me being fake would be a crime
we would all share a ceil, do our jail time
once it's served we'll have one lesson learned, just be you and you'll get everything you deserve
