Beach Poem Poem by Juan Olivarez

Beach Poem

Rating: 5.0

Nothing like a south Texas beach, early in the morning
Not too many new shells washed up
The usual suspects abound.

The sun rising in the east
Seagulls flying low over the bay
Pelicans snoozing on old posts watching the sunrise.

Fish jumping out of the brine
Old fishermen baiting hooks on the jetties
GREENPEACE hauling a fat sunbather into the sea.
