Beautiful Poem by Adam Holmes

Beautiful

Rating: 5.0

People question me about my content
“You never write about the beautiful things”
Everything is grim
Everything is ugly
Everything is damned
But hideousness is the currency of loveliness
Some people spend more then they’re worth
These folks are the poorest
Not shanty people in Africa
Not the bum pissing in an alley
Because,
To them
A sunset is a sunset
A dollar is a dollar
Art is art
But in reality,
Nothing is relative
Everything beautiful is paid for
By something repulsive
Something cruel
What is beauty without definition?
Stop waiting outside soup kitchens
Stop begging on crowded streets
Stop believing fairytale fiction
If you want real beauty
Open your eyes
Close your mouth
Keep your hands in your pockets
And one day…
You will be a millionaire

There's so substitute for your own observations. Very cerebral, as always, but prophetic and passionate :) Does this hold true for pple?
