Beautiful Moon - Poem by Salman Sayeed

In a starry sky
The moon look so beautiful and white
Gives us light in the night

The beautiful moon is stuck in the sky
With its friends
I look at them from my window
WisingI could touch the moon

Wounder why the moon shines only at night
Making for a beautiful sight
I wish I could touch the moon

The moon is so beautiful and white
Making for a beautiful sight
In the clear starry night

You know the astronomical explanation for why the moon shines at night, but that does not stop you from wondering about it. This wonderment belongs to all eras. Your poem tells me that you want to understand the secrets of the moon from its own light. To someone who thinks like a poet, an explanation is no better than simply drinking in the moonlight with your eyes. I like the childlike innocence of lines like this: /Wonder why the moon shines only at night/ Making for a beautiful sight/ Wish I could touch the moon. // It is important to begin somewhere, as you've done in this poem. This belongs to Moon Appreciation 101. Later when your language soaks up more moonlight, you will write a different poem about the moon. (Report) Reply
