Because I Love You Poem by Reginald Goodridge

Because I Love You

Because I love you
I don't want any man to touch you
Or breathe a word to you
Nor shall I hear of another's affections

Because I love you
I want the galaxy in you to show
Return all your favors with endless emotion
Grip reality and squeeze out my dream's reflections

Because I love you
I pause in my wet pool of love
You outperfor my other women
Thus I know you are the utmost selection

Because I love you
I won't ever stop wanting
Running behind your whims
Knowing your love, time, thoughts are perfection; perfection

This is a wonderful piece Reginald. I like the use of the title that opens each stanza and act as a reason. It works very well. I cannot see this as a love poems, more as an expression of desire and how we want to posses. A very fine piece my friend
