Because I Love You Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Because I Love You

Because I love you
I have to say goodbye,

My sadness is heavy
As tears flow from my eyes.

I want you to be happy
And to have all the best,

But I'm setting you free
For I love you my Dearest.

Your demands I can't meet -
So with your expectations,

Now I choose my retreat
And give your liberation.

If we stay we'll both suffer
And vex each one to death,

I think friendship is better -
In Time, we will forget.

Though the conscious mind may forget, I feel that, whether it is nescessary to or not, letting someone go leaves a piece of your unconscious self, a soul, as one may say, broken in a way which is left unmended for all time, and I believe somewhere deep within one's self lies a yearning to be reunited with love ones now lost. Beautiful poem, start to finish, and so very true, excellence has found a home on this page.

Is it better to have loved and lost or to have never loved before? Is it reallyworth the pain? Sometimes ignorance is bliss!
