Because The Rain Poem by Donnie Wolff

Because The Rain

Rating: 5.0

I hear the rain,
and your voice sound.
I feel the thunder,
And your heart pound.
With a tear I pray,
in a sky still blue.
Because the rain,
reminds me of you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by a girl, that stood by me, despite me being me. RIP Dear Kelsey, I hope to see you again, not just in the rain.

Writing is a very cathartic process. I found myself waking at around 2am the other evening and penning close to thirty poems... sometimes that's the way we, as writers heal... a beautiful poem, Donnie. Keep writing.

You have so beautifully expressed your love. Rain and love, they seem so connected. Well penned.

Thank you, seems to be the most popular on here and elsewhere. Everything written is true. My life.. I wrote this at 6 in the morning in a thunderstorm on her birthday as we had broken up the day before. Though that remained that way, the poetry the moment now lives beyond all of us.
