Because You Don'T Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Because You Don'T

I constantly fight the urges
I just want to grab your hand
But I can’t because you don’t
I want to wrap my arms around you
And lay my head on your chest
But I can’t because you don’t
Sad love songs are my company
And your face the center of my dreams
Memories of the good days
Are my reasons to hang on
I long for the comfort of your arms
I can’t get that because you don’t
My pain spills out on ink filled pages
Neglected in my agony
Simple words sewn together
I want to tell you I love you
But I can’t because you don’t
So, I do it the only way I know how
Stringing together words
Hoping somehow you’ll see
It’s meant to be
