Beckoning Soul Poem by Amitava Sur

Beckoning Soul

Rating: 5.0

Fears and happiness with joys and strife
Pride and autocracy with hatred and crime –
Whatever I achieved is none of mine.
They all are like my external dresses
What I wear to cover up my nakedness inside.

Show me the path of ultimate peace
To liberate the soul for it’s holy abode
Let this mortal life return to immortality
With glory and shine with love and peace.

Give me the wisdom and knowledge to learn
Through perseverance and dedication.

Peace of mind is the ultimate goal
The only fancy what -
Beckons the ever lasting holy soul.

Even if we have a lot of wealth and material comforts, we needn't essentially have peace of mind. Inner peace and tranquillity are man's greatest assets! Our life on Earth is only a short sojourn. We seek to have eternal peace in the other world. Enjoyed this poem of deep spiritual undertones!

Fear and happiness with joy and strife we observe continuously but awakening with spirituality we realize reality of life all around. Yes, definitely peace of mind is the ultimate goal of life. Very interesting poem shared. Wisely penned...10

Joy or sorrow lose their meaning When tranquility rules over the Evening. As rightly said peace of mind is the most valuable asset one can earn in the strife torn life irrespective of what sort of attires one chooses to cover self nakedness. Enjoyed the poem. Thanks for sharing. Regards.

Verily, the peace of mind is the ultimate goal and it resides on the path of God

A reflective poem full of life's eternal truths and heart felt longing for some thing more divine and more satisfying than mortal life. Yes Amitav Some time knowledge is that blessing but some time I just don't know.....ignorant becomes a blessing. Enjoyed reading your poem.

Me, myself sometimes ponder on how life is when i was alone thinking about it...we seems like nothing if no wisdom living inside..because a good thought will lead us to live well and poor thought will only make us survive but negative thought will make us sinking...around the death corner, so be good to self by lifting upp soul to soul and soul to our Creator. may we see goodness inside our life purpose...and be good

An inspiring poem with a wonderful picture. It reminds me of my Upanishadic prayer which i chant daily with my students. Asato ma satgamaya, tamaso ma jyotirgamaya, mrityor ma amritam gamaya.
