Bedsheets Poem by gershon hepner

Bedsheets

Best roads are incentives to leave, but best streets
are hidden imperatives telling you, 'Stay! '
Best beds are for sleeping, but often best sheets
have hidden imperatives telling you, 'Play! '

Paul Strand writes: 'A road heads out of twon while a
street stays there, so you find roads in the country
but not streets. The best streets urge you to stay;
the road is an endless incentive to leave.'
