Before You Pull The Trigger Poem by Marlena Rose

Before You Pull The Trigger

Before you put that gun to your head
Remember all the good times.
Before you put that gun in your mouth
Remember all you said to them.
Before you pull that trigger dear
Remember those who love you.
Before you pull that trigger dear
Remember they are always thinking of you.
Before you bleed your pain away
Remember how they bled for you.
Before you let yourself die
Remember the pain you felt.
Before you let your soul slip away
Remember that their pain is yours.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written when I was coming out of my long battle with depression, something that I still fight to this day. I strongly encourage anyone who feels depressed or suicidal to find help. Tell someone.
