Beggar Boy Poem by Dr Shamim ali

Beggar Boy

I am a beggar boy
I find sunshine, no where
I am a child, who’s alone in a rain storm
Hoping to get struck by lightning
Standing outside
Running around
Trying to catch
All the rain drops in my mouth.
Never wished for any grand venture
Never yearned for a dance in the rain
Yet I find it irresistible to walk in the rain
No-one can discern
That I'm weeping inside
In this way
I veil my expression of grief
