Behavior Modification/Potato Salad Pacification Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Behavior Modification/Potato Salad Pacification

Today I became very disappointed and mad
A person I once considered to be a friend
let me down without notice... she was dishonest
bringing my feelings of compassion to an end

I was stunned… depressed and in an angry state
Blood pressure was rising…how can I defuse it
A thought came to mind…I'll make potato salad
Maybe the process with force my temper to quit

Selecting large potatoes and bringing to a boil
Turning up the heat… but never loosing control
Cooled with a rush of frigid cold tap water
Peel off the thin skins and set aside in a bowl

Add a little crunch and color… don't forget mayo
Remove shells of boiled eggs…look for mustard
bread and butter pickles and pimento stuffed olives
celery and onion… cut and chop… now restructure

Mix with hands if a spoon seems to be inadequate
Don't be too eager to call it a day…hold on...wait
Adorn with slices of yolk centered circles on top
Sprinkle with paprika…now cover and refrigerate

By time the flavors mellow… calmness will be found
I'll be sampling the concoction with favorable insight
Preparing food for consumption… refocuses attention
Screaming energy… transforms into a flavorful delight
