Behind a mask

You've lived your life and never let them see your true colors,
You live and breath in our world covered by the mask you made for yourself,
You my dear do your best to fit in and not show who you really are,
You hide behind your mask and pretend to be normal,
But no one is normal,
Don't try to fit in with us,
Be yourself and you will be excepted for who you are,
If you don't show who you are then soon you will break,
You my dear are perfect being who you are,
Don't hide behind your mask,
Shine just the way you are,
I love you the way you are,
So does everyone else,
SO JUST BE YOURSELF

A convincing argument set forward with love. Although I don't accept that everyone will be accepted, I do think it is better to be persecuted for who you are than to throw on a mask that fits in whilst you still don't. Nice poem. (Report) Reply

We All use masks to be hidden behind them, we lied, then we act like the honest people, we betray, then we act like loyal people, we giggle, then we tell to that person that is giggled, oh we just were joking with ya, ...see? all are our masks in front of our own actions. we should break our masks down, we should show our real selves not our MASKS!
So meaningful and right. (Report) Reply

we all use masks to survive.Women put on makeup, men drive fast cars, children put on costumes. When a friend is sick we put on a mask of assurance to comfort. When disaster strikes we tell every one, it will be okay. The mask
of a leader.Only on rare occasions do we take off the mask completely., even to ourselves. (Report) Reply

Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
