Behind, Before Poem by Jessica Stubbs

Behind, Before

It's a cold bitter rain
It matches the pain
look inside of myself and what do I find
A thousand memories I can't leave behind
I tell myself to let it go
But those are just words everybody's been told
Once, Twice, a million times
But I can't get the past out of my mind
I'm just a shell in the present
I live in the before, and I resent it
'let it go'
'let it go'
But I can't let go
