Behind Closed Doors Poem by David Harris

Behind Closed Doors

Rating: 5.0

We meet in our special places,
away from prying eyes,
away from voices that condemn,
the happiness together we have found.
We meet in secret at times when we can.
We have no partners
to be guilty of,
they just say
that we are too young,
to know the meaning of love.
One day we may run away,
to be together forever.
However, for now
we must meet
behind closed doors,
in each other homes,
because you are six and I am seven.
