Behind The Mask Poem by Ricky Bingenheimer

Behind The Mask

Rating: 5.0

The night

It takes the sky
And people run and hide
Because they fear what they can't see
The night hides behind the dark where no one can see it
The night hides behind the dark so it can do as it wishes

The day

The day takes the sky
Showing its best to everyone
Fending off the dark and showing people the truth
So people can do as they wish

But is that all there is

The day

The day takes the sky
Showing its brilliance
But blinded are those who look at it instead of what it shines upon
It shows the wrongs of other as well as hides its own
It hides behind the light where no one can see it
It hides behind the light where it can do as it wishes

The night

The night to the sky
And people run and hide
Because they fear what they can not see
But when the dark is illuminated by the moon it shows what it truly hides
It hides the beauty of the world as well as the crimes
It hides the creatures we fear as well as preserves what’s good till its bright again

This is amazing. The descibtive wording is brillant. This is only the first I've read of you'rs, and it is brillant

Wow. I think this one is my favourite of yours, so far. People are often unable to appreciate the perceived negative opposite of the things they love. Where would the day be, without the night? Great contemplation here, I really love this one.
