Behind You Poem by Chris Townsend

Behind You

In these words I do write,
For within my turmoil, I hold tight,
As my emotional spiral chains me to the floor,
As the wind pours over my soul and seals my door,
This heartbeats it churns my life around,
It squeals and scrapes my bottomless soul, makes me feel profound,
If only I could sense the reasons why thus haunt,
If only I could see the questions of life that taunt,
In all this anger I am so calm,
As my feeling subsides, as the sweat runs freely from my palm,
I don’t why I face this life with tears in my eyes,
I have no idea, why all my retorts of strength are pure lies,
If only you could be the stranger next to me,
If within these lines, a message you could see,
I am sure that promises that two strangers can make without fault,
I am sure that you wouldn’t need to worry, bring your life to a halt,
I am sorry if you don’t understand,
I am sorry if you cant be hand in hand,
I want nothing and have nothing to give,
Just a mortal emptiness, a life to relive,
Keep this message in a place that’s close,
Keep this somewhere, that you feel the most,
Listen to the wind it brings a message that you can touch,
You can feel this smooth melody, the oh my god so much,
As deep cleansing yellow moon, this pigment you can see,
Don’t blink nor turn round, listen … this is me …..
