Being On The Train Poem by Andrew Hamm

Being On The Train

Tomorrow I’ll be on a train
All the way to Liverpool
I’ll be reading the Independent
On the train to Liverpool
Through England’s longest tunnel
Through the delightful Peak District
Through the suburbs of Stockport and Manchester
To the city of Liverpool

Another train I’ll be on next day
From Liverpool to Southport
I’ll be contemplating the very long pier
That doesn’t even reach the sea
Because of the ginormousness of the beach
I’ll also be contemplating the sticks of rock
That are standard in any British seaside town
And maybe there’ll be a shop that sells fudge
Like they have in Scarborough
