Beings Of Phobias And Fears Poem by Francis Duggan

Beings Of Phobias And Fears

Our average life span three decades of years
And what are we but beings of phobias and fears
We compete for honours for success and fame
Though success and failure to us all of the same
At the end of our life's journey whenever that will be
For the same fate awaits the billionaire as you and me
For we are not any different to the humble mouse
Who lives in a hole in the wall of your house
Like it we are mortal we too have to die
For the fate of the mouse is for you and for I
So why all the worry and why all the stress
In a Human World where the emphasis is on success
Immortality for Humankind based on a lie
Since the fact of the matter is we have to die.
