Belle Vue Blues Poem by Richard Thornton

Belle Vue Blues

We all get the blues
Even babies get the blues!
But not them nor you
Ever get or have got the blues
Like I do in Belle Vue

There used to be a zoo
A cinemas too
And all sorts of places that serve fast food
For a couple of slow burners like me and you

But now when you got to belle Vue
To view a film or get some food
They'll be nothing there except me and you
After a while you'll be crying too

You'll get a dash or a dose of the Belle Vue blues
A place full of ashes and ghosts
But it's not all bad news

If you need some Paint
Or need to be fed
There is a bad kebab shop
And a Glynn Webb
