Beloved,
If love is perfected in my small being
I would be like a broken song sparrow
Reciting and singing all the poems you have written for me
And walk on the face of the earth undignified
Unnoticed

Beloved,
If love is perfected in pain
I would let you squeeze my heart
Smash it beyond repair
What is left under your fist
Those tiny pieces of veins and cords
I would gather it bit by bit
To love you again
With my mended heart

Beloved,
If love is perfected in sacrifice
I would reduce myself to nothingness
I would give up my being for your sanity
Crucify my passion to let you be
If burnt offering cleanse your soul
I would be that sparrow on the altar
Two coins for five nothing for one
Little worth but unforgotten
In the Almighty memory lane

If love is perfected in freedom
I would let you be free
I would be like that broken song sparrow
