Night, how beautiful you are
and caring to caress me like you do
when I’m broken and lost the most
you have been such an amazing friend
and protector of my soul
you keep me sane and give me hope
I admire you, night
you deserve so much more credit
than I could possibly say in a poem
the way you stop my heart from crumbling
and inspire me to think differently
how do you do it, night
so many hate you for providing darkness
but your sky is the symbol of my life
I would never trade you for a day full of light
light is what creates chaos, light creates destruction
but you, beloved, you bring peace
and peace is what we all need
especially me, night.
