was a friend
a friend who wasn't afrade
to walk the streets
in a purple shirt and green pants

was somebody
somebody to hold me
to tell me that it's all ok
All i ever wanted
was a friend
one who would brake out into dance
or sing out loud
even when there's no music
All i ever wanted
was somebody
somebody to laught at my jokes
no matter how corny they seem
All i ever wanted
was a friend
Is that so wrong?
All i wanted
was her
i held her tight
i never let go
i could hear her fragile heart beat
slowing down
with her last breath
she said to me
'I love you darlin'
'But don't you cry'
'Don't you dare cry for me'
All i had ever wanted
now lay there
on the cold, hard floor
All i ever wanted
was her
My best friend.
