beti

Hr rishte ki apni buniyad hoti h
hr rishte ki apni pehchan hoti h
maine sbse bdkr maa ko mana
khuda se b bdkr mana
zndgi ka hr pal usi k naam pe bitaya
hr us manzil ko chuna
jise sapne me meri ne dekha
aaj b hr sans me maa hi hai
usne mere liye sapne dekhe
maine un sapno ko pura kiya
magar is layak mujhe maa ne hi bnaya
uske bina hr sapna adhura h
hr mnzil ki raha adhuri h
hr pal uska pyar mere sath h
hr ladai me vo mere sath hai
fir b kuch lamho me maine kuch kmi mehsur ki
ek akelapan, ek duri
mere mn se uske mn ki duri
jo ek sawal bn gyi hai
maa beti ka rishta kuch esa hi hota hai,
maa k dil me beti hi rehti hai
magar maa ka mn bete ke liye hi jhukta hai
asu beti k liye bahati hai
magar khadi bete sath hoti h
beti maa k drd ko mehsus krti h
magar maa bete k drd pe hi marhm lagati h
beta kitna b brbad krle
magar nilaam beti hi hoti h
beti us ghar k liye kitni b kurbani dede
magar usi aagan se bida beti hoti h
beti sbko kitna b apnaye
magar parayi beti kahi jati hai

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
