Betrayal Poem by Rosemary Monahan

Betrayal

Rating: 2.5

I thought you were my friend
and that it would never end
You were only being kind to me
So you could take my husband from me
One thing you can't take away
Our memories of each other from yesterday
And legally, he will always be mine
Don't forget that, it will stay on your mind
People used to say you were so nice
But to me, you're as cold as ice
No one will trust you again
Never will your friendships mend
Now people know what you are
Try to deny it, you won't get far
So attempt to lift your head up high
Don't think about the people who cry
Just remember the people who you've hurt
And people will know your name as dirt.
