Betrayal Poem by Crystal Rosser

Betrayal

Rating: 5.0

Look upon my dreams, and
I shall part, I shall crumble.
A well before me, and I sit,
I speak, silently.
The time, it separates,
Languishes and suffers
Hanging low, like a row
Of weeping willows.
The cherries run dry
Bleed softly, my sweetness,
Lulled by the ping-ping
Drips and splattering
Peel over this void
A constant strain, and method-
Twas I unearthly, and you alone?
Like seeds,
Cold and unborn
We thirst for soil.
Lying on ridges of rock,
A bevy of tarnished wearing, I cry.
The bowl, too heavy to carry,
Too still to be living,
And what was more
Is now less satisfying.
Companion of my heart,
Oh I, alone - and you
Die waging war upon me.
Raging and bold,
My flesh loosening.
Touch and sense
Of your essence,
Cruel to leave me
Bewildered and chained
Along a nothingness
And depart like sunset
Trailing the mountains
With kisses, you lie
And leave only darkness.
But, I regret not.
Nothing I received, and
Only witnessed entirely,
But a mere stroke
Of the heart.
I shall remain as myself
And you,
You as the betrayal.
