Better Alternative Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Better Alternative

He is looking for, in his wife,
The soft person who is dead
Since long, the one whom he married
Thirty five years ago: so perhaps does she.

Sooner they realize that life
Is as it is now here;
Not in the cobwebs of memory
Mixed with imagination, the better.

To bring back that tender younger person
Is travelling back in time, impossible:
More difficult than rejuvenation
Of Heritage bodies of Mumbai.
