Better Than Before
We had this love that burned bright
It kept us company as we slept at night
We'd talk and laugh and love
Our joy soaring high like a dove
But soon we hit a snag
And for a bit our feet did drag
But we got up and kept going strong
Knowing that love held no record of wrong
We loved again as once before
We loved strong, maybe even more
Time came for yet another test
It would be awhile before we got to rest
So we pushed on hoping to get through
But the trials came hard and new
We hit that point with all new lows
Taken back by the enemy's blows
It seemed as if it might end
That you'd be nothing but my friend
But I refuse to let us part
Will get through with the love it our heart
So we'll get up and try once more
And find a love that's better than before
