Betterment Of Man Poem by Alexander Beebe

Betterment Of Man

Rating: 5.0

Betterment of man they say to
calm the crowd's unrest
The masters of the linguist arts
feed the minds that they detest

Divining rods they pull from sheaths
in search of moistened thoughts
From ones too young with shallow roots
that cling to lies that they've been taught

They say the dogma has run its course
as newer doctrine assumes the role
To changes the fabric of our minds
that take all comers but drowns the soul

For what was sewn that binds the hearts
of Godly men with focused thought
Will soon extinguish like a flame
that craves the fuel that it has sought

Like a train that reached the peak
and now descends the other side
The weight of new entitlement
took quickly runs and then collides

The argument soon erupts
between the minds on different tracks
Receivers blame the earners greed
Earners blame the receivers slack

And so the great divide begins
between the factions of the heart
The right side fights to hold their ground
the left sides fights to get their part

The masters of the linguist arts
watch from heightened places
With swollen tills held up high
they laugh out loud at anguished faces

Yes, right side holds right things. But argument is seen in politics. Wonderfully you have shared your thoughts.10
