Beware When You Write Poem by Suburban Lovechild

Beware When You Write

Beware when you write
When you're incredibly buzzed
Not drunk mind you
Just life turned up to 11 or beyond
When mundane seems insane
And the rain in Spain
Seems utterly inane
Funny is hilarious
Hell, everything's hilarious
And the guilt, stress, sadness or boredom
You felt earlier
Seems flushed from the vernacular
Yet the dictionary trembles and bites
A buzz-cut mad dog
Frothing between violent yelps
Yet swaying to a beat we all can follow
Nothing but raw self
Rote ignition and cerebral stars
Guiding your mist and sun.
