Beyond The Seemingly Tiny Dot... Poem by Martha C Dias

Beyond The Seemingly Tiny Dot...

Woman:
Tears well up
But you show them not,
Your mind is full of thoughts
But you speak them not.

Afraid of being misunderstood
You stay shut,
Playing your part
In the daily rut!

In the midst of sardonic people
You dwell
Caught up in between
Heaven and hell,

It aint illusion
Or the ultimate reality either,
Just a passing phase
This begins hither and ends thither!

Man:
But what is an end….
Again just a fleeting state,
You're allured into a trap
Using "momentary pleasure" as bait!

Impetuous Man…
Never learned to wait,
Its haste alone
That delivers him into his fate.

Impertinent is he…
In an imperturbable masquerade!
Oh foolish being
Indeed wise ways are hard!

A little bit of this
And a little bit of that,
Makes even the instinctive cat
A king over the timid rat!

Futile indeed
Are the ways of men
Cowardly are both
The sword and the pen!

Glory they say
Lies in power and fame,
But fame resides also
With those put to shame!

Woman:
Sire you're thoughts are deep
And you're words are true,
Pray tell me
What is it that troubles you!

You got a lot to say,
But you say only a little.
You take a big bite
And throw out just spittle!

Silent waters do run deep
While in the shallow waters
Idiocy creeps!

Tell me then
What's on your mind?
I shall listen with all attention
I can duly find!

Man:
Oh lady deep thoughts
Are just a fallacy!
Illusion steers the wise
While the fools envy!

True words I speak;
So you say
Yet know not I
Truth went which way.

The lethargic state
That ‘our kind' is in,
Implies silence to be a grave sin!

Words are given
Recognition not!
Yet recognition is not what
Those words sought!

Words seek solace
In an understanding soul,
Who comprehends just a little
If not the whole!

I guess it shall
Never be,
It's me
Wishfully hoping the blind to see!

Speak I little….
Yet the little is not understood,
So speaking lot…
Wont do much good!

Don't get me wrong
I don't intend rude,
I say what I say…
In as earnest way as I could!

You ask me what troubles me.
If only I could…
I'd let you see what I see.

How can I tell you?
Of which I know not.
There's so much beyond
The seemingly tiny dot!

The law of this world says
What you give you get!
Believing this…
So much we forfeit!

Forgetting what we got,
Was someone's generosity on us bestowed!
In vain pride
Our gratitude gets towed!

Forget not this body is a cage,
Caught between being a sinner…
And a sage!

Deep or shallow…
Water is water still,
It's not for us to decide
But God's will!

For he makes hot fire
Seem as cool as ice,
Turns he the nasty
Into the lowly nice!

Now now…
I see I've spoken
More than I should!
I pray it does you if not lot,
A little good!

Forever this life is but not!
Keep in mind friend,
To look beyond
The seemingly tiny dot!

Excellent word play and praiseworthy poetic attempt indeed. Emotional conflicts have moulded a poet out of a lady with virtues plenty. Poetry here is a great experience of reading a mind whatever agony it might have gone through in real. Good work..
