Big Bill

He didn't like his nickname,
Oh, I remember still;
He wanted to be a doctor,
And we called him Big Bill.

Nice little poem, I used to be called Bubs when I was younger, but didn't mind.

This is a wonderfully entertaining limerick. Love the picture, too.

i've seen pictures of storks (in Europe i guess) carrying newborn humans through the air; they were perhaps obstetricians? but i think i'd feel more secure being carried by a pelican! i've heard of doctors giving out 'big bills', but never heard of one nicknamed Big Bill, until today. or didn't he make it to medical school? i liked. nice photo too! bri :)

To M.R. Nair, whose comment is below: I tried to reply to your comment by clicking the REPLY button, but the computer keeps saying I am leaving the comment box blank, which I am not. No, it is not a limerick. A limerick has five lines, with the rhyme pattern AABBA. I have three limericks on this website: The Food, The Dad, and the Rugby Not Mini-Apolis Don't go out on a Limb, Rick

Good one. Sweet, short and humorous. Can we call this a limerick?
