Birthday Boy Poem by Edwina Reizer

Birthday Boy

He bought himself a present
and tied it with a bow.
He celebrated all alone
because no one else did know
when he was born or how many candles
would be placed upon his cake.
And when he opened his present
there was no one there to make
a birthday celebration
or anything like that.
But when he opened up his gift
inside there was a hat,
and streamers and a horn,
just so he could remember
when he had been born.
