Bitter Cakes Poem by Ivan Chizurum Ezeigbo

Bitter Cakes

Rating: 5.0

Sugar tongues
Fearful tongs
Learning to survive
Asking why you are alive
Not really nostalgia
Immediacy and presence are hated in quanta
Hopes are fabulous
Hopes are nebulous
The cake will not finish too soon
Lemon becomes the full moon
Your not the only one who is happy
Your sadness can be seen on the face of a passing lady
A man throws a thumbs up to a stranger
You pass a gang, noticed, a sign of danger
You munch till the last piece of cake
You are still fighting with the sun that wants to bake
Life is full of sweetness
Life is as meaningless as bitterness
People are concerned for your sake
Others tell you it's your own piece of cake
You finish the last piece
Sour turns for you to kiss
You have had your last taste
Hatred is all you know best
You look and you find no more
Now happiness and sadness merge as it was before

A great flowing poem, like it.
