Bitter Liar Poem by Ramona Thompson

Bitter Liar

You won
I lost
Went home and to bed
With the man I loved
So tell me why now
You won't let old feuds and rivalrys die
Why do ya gotta come back?
Make my life a living hell
Bitter liar oh please, please bitter liar
Tell me please right now
Why won't you just leave me alone?

Tried so hard
All I wanted to do was forgive, forget and move on
Stay the hell out of your way
But you just would't let a sleeping dog alone
No, no, no
Bitter liar
You had to come back for a second helping of your revenge
So cold
So cruel
Laughing as I sit here cryin
Drowning in the tears
The unforgotten fears of yesterday
Bitter liar oh bitter liar
Tell me why
Why you won't let me go

Buried deep
Under 6 feet of pain and heartache
Your phone calls and letters
Never letting me forget
Never letting me be free
Free from my past so sinful
Crossed you
Hurt you
I know that was a mistake
My biggest most fatal mistake
Swear that I'm sorry
So very, very sorry
But it's over now
You gotta know that
Bitter liar
You gotta know
To be happy
You just gotta
Gotta let me go

Give it on up
Bitter liar
Please just give it up
Call off the hounds who have named themselves
Your royal undying following of family and friends
Tell them to let me be
Back them off
One by one by one
Stop the rumors
Bitter liar
Stop the lies
Forget about me I promise that I'll forget about you too
What do you say babe?
Deal or no deal?
Bitter liar
Please, please tell me
Can we or can't we put this maddness behind us?
Once and for all
