Black And White Poem by Jennifer Rose

Black And White

A lamp casts shadows on carpet
The t.v. glowing with images
Bodies brushing fabric
Words mixed into slang
Covering my ears to the sounds
The ticking clock my heart relies on
A pain in between my eyes
Emotions rising up
What to feel
What to think
Ignoring and ignored
Silent and loud
Dark and light
I can't stand the small space
The difference much larger
Influenced by the influencing
People regretting stupid words
Where did I get caught in the middle?
