Black Cat Memories Poem by Zachariah Atteberry

Black Cat Memories

Rating: 5.0

A cat eyes dusk, black as night
Eyes luminously sparkling as a fire light

Now weak and frail Tail hardly moving, eyes receding
As night calms, solitude and desolate actions bring aching

As the injection is placed upon the black fur
The solemn goodbyes are greeted and the rest merely a blur

Eyes no longer seeing, tail no more wagging
Muscles no longer budging, heart no longer beating

Many memories and hearts lit by the light
To many this departing seems as an everlasting bite

Grievance like stones, fire intensity burns my heart
Love and friendship never forgotten even as we depart

Midnight time comes about, breaking the silence with the howls
A Spirit, image of a cat creeping the midnight shadows

Many Years come Memories remembered, spirits still heeded
Loved all the same as sence departed, love and sadess never receded

Time, a valuable essence of life, it is not forever and as such its best to spend every day with the felines we love; when the hour glass runs out we can't suspend it.

humans lead busy lives, life and time is not forever and as such life is to quick, to live upon a doubt.
put first things first and spend all you can with your felines, while their soul is about.
