Black & White Poem by mazHur Butt

Black & White

black is beautiful.
like the black holes
the black forest cake
like the pitch black ebony
like blackberry
like the blackboard
black is the base
upon which white manifests itself
these the galaxy of stars
meteors, sun, the moon,
the cosmos and all
the black charcoal roads
the rook, the jaguar,
the black cloak of saints and sufi's
the black tie and black suit
the black mole on a chin
the black smoke that rises from the chimney
the art of the blacksmith with the black
black gold, black continent
black universe studded with white
nothing like solid black
the King of Colors
so much black that pleases the eyes
the soul, the heart, the way of life
all the beauty sparkles at night
and the night glitters with a charm
the sunshine day can never overwhelm.
