Blind Poem by Valentina Burgeson

Blind

Why do you keep doing this?
I don’t know what you mean.
Why do you keep doing this?
I don’t see what you see.
You do not see the scratches that are bleeding from your arm.
I do not see how this could be causing you such harm.
Of course you don’t why can’t you see how much I care for you?
I cannot see why I should not do the things I do.
Because of all the things you do they cause me so much strife.
I guess that you should realize that this is still my life.
I do, I know your right I guess but why can’t you just listen?
Because, I guess, maybe, because there is no need to listen.
Oh your hands, this will leave scars, and they will stay forever.
I guess its good for you that we did not do this together.
I’m trying to help, you know I am, please just hear me out.
No, you are trying to control me, now leave before I shout.
You’re such a fool go on ahead and die for all I care.
I see your lie, you are still nagging, you’re still stuck in my hair.
Why shouldn’t I be, I care for you, and don’t you care for me?
Of course I do, but can’t you try to go and let it be?
No I can’t, I’m sorry, but you don’t see what I see.
I see you care a lot, I do, but I did this for me.
Then try not to do this for me; I don’t want you to do it.
I don’t care what you want of me I still am going to go slit.
You do not see that it is wrong, doing the things you do.
No you are blind, you see, my life does not belong to you.
