Blind Lady In The Choir Shouts Poem by Donal Mahoney

Blind Lady In The Choir Shouts

Matthew 19: 16-22

Blind lady in the choir shouts
that her ancient pastor’s dying and
there will be no funeral because

a chariot will take him
far beyond the clouds where
everyone can go, she shouts,

if we believe and we behave.
Faith’s a gift from God, she shouts.
We must behave, not just believe.

Hallelujahs aren't enough, she shouts.
“If you wish to enter into life, ” He said,
'keep the commandments.”
