Blinders Poem by The Poet Darkling

Blinders

I got my blinders on, I really don't wanna see
The truth is not pretty, nor is reality

I'd rather have my dreams and silly fantasies
They may not be for real, but they know to please

Reality plays jokes, has dirty little schemes
Oh, yes! It's a trickster, but not my lovely dreams

‘Cuz in my dreams you're here, you never, ever leave
And that's the only truth I choose to believe

So, my blinders are on and I can't really see
The cold, hard, painful truth that's right in front of me
